About the Workshops

Join us for MWW 2026!

The McMullan Writers Workshops will be held on the campus of Millsaps College June 8-12, 2026. Registration for all three workshop cohorts — middle school, high school, and adult writers — will open in February 2026!

The McMullan Writers Workshops are weeklong residential creative writing workshops that take place on the campus of Millsaps College during the summer. Writers in all workshops (middle school, high school, and adult writers) explore fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and literature under the guidance of respected writing instructors, attend craft talks given by writers of national acclaim, and visit sites of cultural and literary interest around Jackson, including the Eudora Welty House and Garden. The workshop model provides opportunities for writers to discuss craft with peers, accomplished writers, and experienced writing instructors as they develop new and original works.

The McMullan Writers Workshops are made possible through the generous support of the McMullan O’Connor Fund, the Ditto family, and in partnership with the Eudora Welty Foundation and Millsaps College.
